Lovely community owned pub. Top food, top beer, friendly locals and brilliant staff. Local gastro-style pub minus the pretentiousness. Perfect .

It's run by locals. To me, that speaks volumes and I mean that to be a positive!Modern furniture doesn't seem out of place in the traditional old pub environment. Wooden floors and book shelves suggests that this place will be cosy on a winter's afternoon but we were there during the great heat wave of 2018!.Which, as it happens, was okay as the pub as a lovely open outdoor area - though those who find steps a challenge may want to avoid going outside. Didn't try the food, but a couple of reasonable ales and ciders were available to sustain.
