Honest pub food in a nice village location. Reasonably priced with great service.
Very happy experience good atmosphere with great staff
A low beamed, large old fashioned pub. In winter or autumn, it has the potential to be a real cosy and comfortable place to recline, read the papers, relax and drink an ale, cider or wine. However, during the brief afternoon opening I've yet to see the fire going. I understand cost etc of getting a fire going but in its absence the pub can feel cold and unfeeling. Perhaps the evening is warmer. In summer, it's another matter altogether. There is ample outdoor seating with a BBQ area and a small play area for kids. There's also a outside bar structure but I'm afraid that there was nowt going on when I was there. A lovely place to spend an hour or two.Service on all occasions was fine. Can be pricey but it's a pub in a lovely village ;we all need to help keep these places going.Use as a base to walk to the abandoned village of Furthero. Would visit again. Cannot comment on food. Two ciders, three cokes and two bags costs about 16.00.
Really cosy inside, friendly staff. Food looked great, I didn't eat today but will definitely return
The very best steak pie that I have ever had (and I've had a few), both in quality and size. Add to that, good beer and friendly staff. I just wish that I lived closer and could visit on a regular basis. Superb.
