Small museum but still spent hours there, interesting exhibits of local interest

Hi, the team of volunteers at towcester museum have really excelled them selves in putting on an excellent ww1 display, they have gathered local stories of soldiers of the town and told there stories, display of trench art she'll cases etc, there is also a brilliant large cabinet display of the trenches, who ever made this was truly a perfectionist as the details are brilliant. The volunteer soldier we spoke to told of the shoe repair work that also had to be done whilst the fighting ect was taking place, the whole afternoon was so nice and interesting, the staff made everyone so welcome for such an important day. So much hard work and research has gone into this and I would like to say thank you all. Highly recommend a visit.Jill Bale Northampton

Really easy to follow the timeline of Towcester and staff very helpful. Shop is quite nice considering the size of the place.

Another wonderful example of a local museum that not enough people know about - visit to learn about Towcester history back from Roman times. The exhibits include a model of Roman Towcester, facts about Boadicea and some railway memorabilia. The museum is tucked away very close to the main A5 that runs through Towcester town centre. It is quite small but it can fascinate anyone interested in British history. Kids can even dress up in costumes provided.

Took grandsons on 24th Oct had a really super time, lovely staff and not too pricey. Boys enjoyed the quiz and dressing up. Well worth a visit, thank you.
